Mentoring: how do we understand it?

About Us

Klaipeda University Continuing Studies School together with partners from Sweden, Finland and Latvia are launching a project "lntersectoral collaboration and promotion of life-long learning in Nordic and Baltic countries, through the development of an innovative mentoring training model", in order to establish a network of cross-sectoral cooperation combining education and business organizations, and develop innovative mentoring training model, through best practice, acquired knowledge and lifelong learning outcomes.

General purpose of the project : to create intersectoral collaboration network, combining educational and business organizations, and create innovative mentoring training model, invoking results of good experience, acquired knowledge and lifelong learning.

 

This project has been funded with support from the Nordplus Horizontal 2014. Project number: NPHZ-2014/10078

 

Activities in the project 

1. lmprovement and development of intersectoral cooperation network. Educational organizations  of Lithuania, Finland, Sweden and Latvia that participate in the project will develop partnership with business entities and organizations, which would agree to share advices, knowledge, and applying existing models of mentoring and practical experience during the visits and surveys. 

2.  Good practice interception of mentoring adoption, as well as comparison of challenges of Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania. 

3.Preparation of measurement methodology for efficiency and effectiveness of applied mentoring models. 

4.  The implementation of a study of existing mentoring skills and applicable mentoring models in the educational and     business sectors in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania. 

5.  Implementation of comparative analysis.

          6.  Preparation of mentor training program for employees of business organizations who are prepared to become mentors. 

7.  Organization of mentors pilot trainings for employees of business organizations who are perspective mentors.

8.  ldentification and evaluation of efficiency and effectiveness of a training program based on the results feedback on the pilot training. 

9.  Dissemination. This type of project activities will be held continuously through the implementation of the project. Disseminating the outcomes, innovative training methods, studies and analysis.
